The advocacy tools being created and placed on line for your use here, make up the core nucleus of the Lobbyist Education Center’s (LEC) educational programming. The program was created with College & High School Students in mind as an alternative way to address and meet California’s Government related graduation requirements. Combined, they support three specific LEC goals:

• Educate the public about the legislative process and the positive role Lobbyists and Legislative Advocates play in our society; and
• Provide cutting edge materials and services to support today’s advocates.
• Train the public to enhance their participation and effectiveness in the political process.

This section is designed to be used by those who fall into one (or all) of the following categories: 

• Current advocates who are looking for tools to help them expand their skills and career(s);
• Entities that are looking to hire an advocate but don’t know how to, and as such, need some education before they make a major financial and legislative investment;
• Advocates looking for information that will help educate their clients (In an effort to make them more effective clients);
• Those who want to be advocates, but don’t know were to start!

By design, the tools being created by the LEC fall into the following categories:

To support these programs, the LEC has created the industry’s first Interactive Legislative Advocacy Workbook entitled the Dummy’s Guide to Legislative Advocacy. This short, 100+ page workbook uses a series of easy to read essays, examples and exercises, to indoctrinate, educate and train the reader in the art of Legislative Advocacy.

Priced at $27.50, the electronically downloaded PDF workbook will meet the needs of four select groups of people:

• Future professionals: not only does it contain short, easy to read and accomplish sections and exercises, but when completed, it can help jump start your career.
