Ray Lebov Seminars
Mr. Lebov offers the following two classes:
Lobbying 101
The introductory course covers the fundamentals of lobbying, including a review of all the important relevant resource materials; the qualities of a good legislative advocate; the rules of effective advocacy; the language, culture and mores of the legislature; the does and don'ts of testifying; how to find the right author, client relations and much more.
Lobbying 201
The advanced course is for graduates of "Lobbying 101" or for people with a significant amount of lobbying experience. This seminar builds on principles taught in the introductory class and also includes budget advocacy, lobbying the administration, regulatory agency advocacy, and media strategies.
Both classes are taught by longtime Legislative Advocate Ray LeBov, For student convenience, the classes are regularly held downtown Sacramento, just a few blocks from the steps of the California State Capitol.
The Lobbyist Education Center (LEC) recommends these courses for three reasons:
- It is important for people to learn the basics of how to lobby, and Mr. Lebov provides you with an overview of what’s needed to become a lobbyist and construct an effective lobbying program;
- I have personally known Mr. Lebov for over 25 years and believe that he has created a course that compliments what we at the Lobbyist Education Center are teaching;
- The material covered by Mr. Lebov is complimentary to the material outlined in the Dummy’s Guide To Legislative Advocacy
