About Lobbyist.org and the Lobbyist Education Center

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by!

www.Lobbyist.org is a unique site, in as much as it blends both education of the public, with promotion of its products and services. As the site’s owner, I want to personally welcome you and thank you for visiting the Internet’s only website that provides voters and consumers like yourselves with quality information about Lobbying, Legislative Advocacy and Governmental Relations.
As it says in our blog, I want you to know right up front that this website is designed to accomplish 3 specific things.

1) To get citizens like you, the reader, educated, involved and active in the legislative process.
2) To help support and produce promotional involvement and advocacy tips and tools, software and devices for professional Advocates, Governmental Relations Experts and the general public, you the voter.
3) To promote the activities of MCR Public Affairs & Advocacy, a registered lobbying firm in California (MCR Public Affairs & Advocacy is a full service Governmental Relations & Advocacy Firm that has been in operation since 1991).

Before we get too far down the line, I want you to know this: www.Lobbyist.org is been on and off line for years. That last time we were online was about 2 years ago. At that time, we were hacked pretty badly, and took down all of our sites because everything was destroyed. So, starting from scratch, we have come up with a new design, format and focus.

Realizing that this might be your first time here, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Michael Ross, and I am a 34+ year veteran of California’s Legislative process. Since starting out as an intern, I have worked in a variety of offices, on a variety of landmark bills, represented a cast of unique clients and have created or expanded a series of fun, exciting and interesting public policy areas. The one common theme that all of my activities have is this: The issues affect consumers, the products they use and concepts affecting their purse, wallet or purchasing power. Recognized, affable, intellectual and looking for a challenge, I specialize in consumer protection issues, not just facing society today, but tomorrow.

Organizationally, www.Lobbyist.org is designed to grow over time, and will do so in some very exciting ways - ways that are outlined and supported by our mission statement.

www.Lobbyist.org’s main growth will stem from education – free education through a unique one on one program that will help the budding advocate, blossom into the next sock-it-to-em Lobbyist. This will be done through a variety of techniques, techniques that will come to light through the Lobbyist Education Center (LEC). As you can see from the box in the upper right hand corner, a variety of interesting subjects will both be discussed and outlined for you to follow. Some are ready for your use, while others will be up shortly. For example, would you like to learn how to write a press release? If so, simply click on the link and bingo, you’ll find step by step instructions on how to write the release – starting with defining what is news and ending up with the actual design as well as suggestions on how and where to distribute it.

With that said, I will close by saying the following: I know this is an ambitious project, one that if it works, will benefit a lot of people, not just today, but for a long time. As such, we hope that you will not only come back often, but just as importantly, will let us know how we’re doing.

To do so is easy. You can contact me personally by email at ssorleahcim@comcast.net or in my office at (916) 923-2215 during normal business hours 9-5 Pacific Time.
Thank you very much. I hope to see you here often!

Michael Ross.

MCR Public Affairs & Advocacy is a full service Governmental Relations & Advocacy Firm. In operation since 1991, the firm is run by it's owner, Michael Ross.
